Unlike ''[[Tonicella lineata]]'', this species tends to be orange or pink, and usually has blue lines on all its plates. To be more certain of your identification, look closely at the head plate: ''T. lineata'' almost always has the concentric lines on the headplate bordered by dark brown lines, while in ''T. undocaerulea'' they are not. Also, the lines on the headplate of ''T. undocaerulea'' are strongly zigzagged, this is uncommon in ''T. lineata''.agged, this is uncommon in ''T. lineata''. +
