Mgoff 310 27 April 2014 Lichen Observed several of what appeared to be the same species of brown lichen growing on the horizontal surface of the support board for the railing near the bird viewing platform on the estuary life trail. The wood is probably Yellow Cedar (Chamaecyparis nootkatensis).

Mgoff 279 1 October 2013 Chroogomphus, Pinus contorta Only noticed a few of these, mostly still early in development. Seemed to be associated with Shore Pine (Pinus contorta) (growing on ground at base of tree).
Mgoff 280 1 October 2013 Suillus tomentosus, Pinus contorta Growing in association with Shore Pine (Pinus contorta) - several mushrooms, though most had been broken up. Clearly staining blue. Seemed to be pretty dry and firm/crisp (broke cleanly), whether this was due to stage of development and/or recent sunny weather, or if this is characteristic of the species is unclear.
Mgoff 276 1 October 2013 Hygrophoraceae Growing in lawn adjacent to coast guard cutter station. Green staining, pink-ish cap. Seemed slimy.

Kila 11 14 September 2013 Stereopsis humphreyi Small group of 8-10 individuals growing on humus by a small creek about 20ft up a small creek. The site was very shaded by windfall debris. Individuals were all less than 4 inches tall.

Individuals were very white and did not stain after handling.

Kila 13 14 September 2013 Remains of a tree buried in a layer of pumice and ash from eruption of Mt. Edgecumbe or possibly Crater ridge (?).

Material collected for carbon dating and species identification. coordinates are not accurate

Kila 14 22 June 2013 Eastern Phoebe Heard and saw an Eastern Phoebe perched at the top of a Sitka Spruce in the Yakutat Ranger District Compound. Position is approximate.
