Populus balsamifera
From Natural History of Southeast Alaska
Balsam Poplar (Populus balsamifera): Unclear whether this species occurs in Southeast Alaska. ARCTOS herbarium records are all of Populus balsamifera ssp. trichocarpa (Populus trichocarpa) and it seems plausible that this species is restricted to interior regions of BC into Yukon and Alaska - not reaching the coast before South Central Alaska.
