Zygodon viridissimus: BFNA does not include Alaska in the range of this species, though Worley indicates a handful of records from as far north as Sitka (while noting it is increasingly rare at the northern end of its range).

Habitat: On tree trunks in peatlands, and on rocks and cliffs, especially in calcareous locations.
Comments: Infrequently with sporophytes, gemmae frequent. This species becomes distinctly more rare in the northern portion of its range.
