Southeastern Alaska Distribution: Widespread, but local.
Habitat: Usually as massive tufts and cushions on humid, calcareous cliffs, sometimes on calcareous soils, on boulders, from sea level to middle forest elevations. Usually in shade, but also in exposed sites.
Comments: Sporophytes not seen in Alaskan material.
