Southeastern Alaska Distribution: Previously known from Sitka (Persson, 1952) and Skagway (Williams, 1901).
Habitat: On tree trunks and logs, rarely on rock, occasionally among other mosses on deciduous forest floors.
Comments: The reports from the upper Lynn Canal are the northernmost for the species.
