  • Skinner, et al 2012: "Native riparian grass of well-drained gravel bars and disturbed areas of streams and rivers. Also occupies well-drained areas of rocky alpine areas and cliffs, as well as, rocky and gravelly coasts. Often confused with the awned form of Ticklegrass (Agrostis scabra)"
