Southeastern Alaska Distribution: See Map 128. Previously known only from Yakobi Island (Persson, 1963). Throughout.
Habitat: On soil between rocks, and on mineral soils in exposed sites in the subalpine and alpine, common; sometimes on rocks.
Comments: Usually with sporophytes.
