Habitat: In southeastern Alaska, the species is most frequent near the sea, on rotting wood, old wharfs, among boulders on beaches, on the concrete of old buildings. Also on damp wood in forests, rotting logs, and tree bases.
Comments: Sporophytes are frequent.
