Summary | Observed seal as photographed off Totem Park for some time. If I remember correctly, it occasionally made a sound. At the time I thought it was a odd for a Steller's Sea Lion (Eumetopias jubatus) to behave this way. Later I heard that this behavior (head out of the water with nose pointed up for some time, looking like a dead head log) is typical for Northern Elephant Seal (Mirounga angustirostris). |
