Melanophila acuminata
From Natural History of Southeast Alaska
Black Fire Beetle (Melanophila acuminata): Apparently three scattered in space and time reports from Juneau (1954), Sitka (2013), and Fox Point (<1900 - Harriman Expedition). Seems to mostly associated with forest fires for reproduction, so occurrence in the region may be due to vagrancy?
