Kbovee 4 | 5 March 2013 | Trumpeter Swan, Mallard, Glaucous-winged Gull, Greater Scaup | Took some students down to the lake. Typical assortment of winter birds. 3 mature trumpeter swans, 15+ mallards, 10+ glaucous winged gulls (1st, 2nd,and 3rd year birds), and occ. scaup near pennisula, feeding occasionally, hoping for handouts. More scaups out in middle of lake and great blue heron down north of radio station |

SBBP 007 | 25 November 2012 | Dark-eyed Junco | |
Kbovee 3 | 21 November 2012 | Dark-eyed Junco, Varied Thrush | About 20 juncos and a varied thrush showed up for around 5 minutes feeding on the ground in alders behind class. No banded birds were seen. Only 5 to 10 birds were still and close enough to see well enough. The rest of the birds were further in the brush or didn't stay still enough. |
Kbovee | 12 November 2012 | Trumpeter Swan | 3 Swans and many ducks, mostly mallards at the "feeding station" I stopped to take a quick picture from the other side of the lake and they all came running expecting a handout. Probably not a safe place to stop for the waterfowl's safety. |
Kbovee 2 | 10 November 2012 | Tsuga mertensiana | Very thick bark on mountain hemlock. Others of similar size in the same area didn't have bark this thick. |
