Dusky turban:
Dusky turban (Tegula pulligo): As reported by Aaron Baldwin, this species is the common Tegula species whose juveniles are sometimes found on rocks when the adults are usually associated with Macrocystis kelp. The simplest way to distinguish this species from Tegula funebralis is to look at the umbilicus, T. funebralis has a closed umbilicus, T. pulligo has an open one.
