Summary Apparently Uncommon to Fairly Common along much the central mainland, with abundance dropping off to Very Rare on the outer islands. Along major mainland rivers, preferred habitat is shrubs along fresh water marshes, so lack of that habitat may play a role in the relative scarcity on the islands.
