Sonchus arvensis

Field Sowthistle (Sonchus arvensis): This introduced species has been found in several communities throughout Southeast Alaska. It has also been found on northern Admiralty Island (at what are probably popular recreation sites for Juneau residents).

  • Lamb Shephard 2007: Gustavus, Haines, Hoonah, Ketchikan, Juneau, Admiralty and Prince of Wales Island. Found in waste areas, meadows, woods, lawns, roadsides, beaches, ditches, and river and lake shores. Invading beach grass communities above high tide line.
