Southeastern Alaska Distribution: Not previously known. "The Hump", a roche mountonee on the E shore of Rendu Inlet, across from the Romer glacier, Glacier Bay, Worley 13109A (collected by J. Rawson).
Habitat: The southeastern Alaska specimen was growing with other bryophytes among scattered Dryas stage vegetation in recent tills over rock. Elsewhere in its range it is common on loose soils over rock, especially on calcareous substrates.
Comments: This appears to be the southern limit of the species in western North America.
