Saussurea americana
From Natural History of Southeast Alaska
American Saw-wort (Saussurea americana): Only nine scattered collections in ARCTOS, with all but two from the year 2000 or later. Collected from Prince of Wales Island, Baranof Island, and Chichagof Island, as well as mainland collections near Juneau and the mountains between Lynn Canal and Glacier Bay. Only a few reports from British Columbia indicated on e-flora BC maps.
It's unclear whether this species has been overlooked, or is simply uncommon (with more deliberate efforts to collect it when found in recent years).
