Southeastern Alaska Distribution: See Map 321. Previously reported from Juneau (Cardot and Theriot, 1902) and Mahoney Creek, Revillagigedo Island (Persson, 1963).
Habitat: On cliff ledges and in crevices, sometimes on soil, in shaded sites generally near sea level, sometimes to the subalpine.
Comments: Usually with sporophytes. In Europe and western North America tihs is an oceanic species.
