Family: Radulaceae

Group: Bryophyte, Species

Scientific NameCommon NameSummary
Radula bolanderiThe leaves of R. bolanderi do not overlap, therefore the stem is visible. Radula lacks underleaves which distinguished this genus from Porella and Frullania.
Radula complanataRadula species lack underleaves which distinguished this genus from Porella and Frullania. The leaves of R. complanata overlap and obscure the underlying stem.
Radula obtusiloba

BFNA treatment: https://www.mobot.org/plantscience/bfna/V3/Radulaceae.htm

Also consider *R. auriculata* (found on Haida Gwaii, reported for Alaska) and possibly *R. prolifera* (on northern mainland, continental climate area)

Key characters for each species (extracted from the BFNA treatment):

1. Leaves producing gemmae -> Radula complanata

2. Plants with a very strong tendency to produce primary branches associated with each leaf along the main stem, thus plumose (frond-like) in habit -> Radula obtusiloba

3. Stems without differentiated cortex leaf cells without conspicous trigones (trigones absent to minute) -> Radula bolanderi

4. Stems with differentiated cortex; leaf cells with small to conspicuous trigones and mature plants usually greater than 55 mm in length; dorsal lobe base moderately auriculate -> Radula auriculata
