Southeastern Alaska Distribution: See Map 152. Probably throughout.
Habitat: From moist or wet sites, on or among rocks, on soil, occasionally on wood.
Comments: Frequently with sporophytes. This is probably a common species in the early successional stages of deglaciated Glacier Bay, and other areas of primary succession in southeastern Alaska.
