Southeastern Alaska Distribution: Previously reported from only a few sites.
Habitat: In southeastern Alaska common in the drier portions of open peatlands, on well drained and well illuminated forest soils (an indicator of young, successional forests), in the Dryas and Alnus primary successional stages after deglaciation, and in the early successional stages of uplifting beaches. From sea level to the subalpine. A common forest floor species in continental, boreal forests.
Comments: Occasionally with sporophytes (rarely in coastal environments).
