Southeastern Alaska Distribution: Throughout.
Habitat: On bare soil, especially where over rock or in disturbed sites. Common along roadways, outcrops, glacial tills, alpine ridges, and occasionally in peatlands. Generally in sunny sites, from sea level to mountains and their summits.
Comments: Commonly with sporophytes.
