Polypodiaceae
From Natural History of Southeast Alaska
Family: Polypodiaceae
Group: Vascular Plant, Species
Scientific Name | Common Name | Summary |
---|---|---|
Polypodium glycyrrhiza | Licorice Fern | Common fern of low elevations. Grows as epiphyte and on open rocks and cliffs. Expected throughout the region (FNA map), there are apparently only a few (geo-referenced) collections from Southeast Alaska. (Further searches in Arctos may reveal additional collections without coordinates.) |
Polypodium hesperium | Western Polypody | Not currently known from the region, but present on Haida Gwaii just to the south. There is a collection record from Prince William South as well, so this species could be expected to occur in Southeast Alaska. |
Polypodium sibiricum | Siberian Polypody | A single 2015 collection from Haines labeled as this species is the only report of this species, which appears to be more typically found in the interior in Alaska. |
