- Geiser Dillman Derr Stensvold 1998: On deciduous and coniferous trees and shrubs, occasionally on rock or wood (Thomson 1963); Glacier Bay (Cummings 1904). This record should be checked as P. stellaris can be easily confused with the much more common P. aipolia (Thomson (1963). P. stellaris has also been reported from intermontane British Columbia, where it is conisidered rare (Goward et al. 1992).
