Scientific NameCommon NameSummary
Chlamys rubidaSmooth pink scallopThis is not a normal food scallop, but is a very common find on local sandy beaches as fragile shells more-or-less tinged with pink. It is differentiated from Chlamys hastata by the lack of spines on the shells, which is less obvious on full-grown individuals as they tend to be smothered by sponge growth.
Crassadoma giganteaRock scallopA large, edible bivalve. Generally called "rock scallop."
