Habitat: In wet areas on rocks a nd soil, in shaded or exposed sites, from sea level to the subalpine.
Comments: Sporophytes not known in North America. In southeastern Alaska it is not known south of Icy Strait. it is oceani in British Columbia only in the Queen Charlotte Islands.
