Summary | Found many small black pupae on Cow Parsnip (Heracleum maximum) - thought maybe they were associated with leaf mining activity on them. Pupae were kept in a jar, and about three weeks later small wasps were found, presumably emerged from pupae.
http://bugguide.net/node/view/687097 It was Braconid Wasps Dacnusini that parasitized the pupae. See http://bugguide.net/node/view/687106#1214617 Pupae belonged to leaf mining flies in the genus Phytomyza |
