Worley's Map of Collection Records for Rhacomitrium canescens

Ian Worley
[as Rhacomitrium canescens]
Southeastern Alaska Distribution: See Map 325. (This map indicates only those reports of the species in which no varietal status is reported.)
Habitat: Barren soils, on soil over rocks and on rocks in sunny places, occasionally in shaded sites where it is otherwise dry. From sea level to the alpine.
Comments: Frequently with sporophytes. Almost all plants from southeastern Alaska are referable to one of the following two varieties [var. ericoides and var. strictum]. Most of the citations mapped here are of var. ericoides.
