Summary | Focused primarily on weather in Washington and Oregon, this book uses both typical weather patterns and extreme occurrences to provide an introduction to the wheres, whys and hows, of weather development and occurrence for that region. Given the topographic complexity in the region of its coverage and relatively close proximity, it seems likely that many of the principles can be applied to understanding and/or interpreting weather in Southeast Alaska, however the book does not seem written with this kind of generalization in mind. Even so, it is an informative read that provides insight into the complexity of understanding, interpreting, and predicting weather in a region as topographically complex as Southeast Alaska. |
