Southeastern Alaska Distribution: Known only from a report by Persson(1952a) from Point Gustavus at the mouth of Glacier Bay.
Habitat: Usually on mineral substrates, raw soils over rocks and in crevices, seldom on calcareous soil. Over peat or peaty soil in the Arctic. Seldom above the limit of the forest.
Comments: Persson (1952a) notes that most Alaskan specimens are gemmiferous
