Scientific Name | Common Name | Summary |
---|---|---|
Acanthodoris hudsoni | Hudson's Dorid | |
Acanthodoris nanaimoensis | Nanaimo Nudibranch | This nudibranch feeds on colonial ascidians and bryozoans, and can be found in the intertidal area. It is easily recognized by the brown or reddish gills and rhinophores. At first sight, it may look somewhat like Stearn's ear-shell (Marsenina stearnsii), which also feeds on colonial ascidians, but this species has little flecks on the body, rather than pits. |
Peltodoris nobilis | Sea lemon | This common nudibranch feeds on sponges, and is usually found in the lower parts of the intertidal, on large rocks. This species is sometimes found in surprisingly exposed areas, with waves crashing over small individuals. |
