Southeastern Alaska Distribution: Throughout from sea level to the subalpine.
Habitat: In a variety of habitats. Among heathers on slopes and in nivation hollows in the subalpine, common under shrubs in peatlands, among rocks on ridges, on the walls of moist canyons and near cascades, by forest puddles (rarely), and even among rocks in road cuts.
Comments: This is the most widespread species in the genus, encompassing the bulk of the range of the genus. Endemic to the temperate, North Pacific Arc.
