Southeastern Alaska Distribution: Throughout.
Habitat: Frequent and often abundant in forests, especially in rich forests on river benches and alluvium, occasionally on decaying logs, more rarely in peatland. Sea level to middle elevations, seldom into the subalpine.
Comments: Sporophytes occasionally abundant. This is a characteristic species of mature, low elevation forests in southeastern Alaska.
