Southeastern Alaska Distribution: Throughout.
Habitat: Frequent and abundant on wood, logs, trees, old buildings; sometimes directly on forest floor, canyon walls and in peatlands.
Comments: This is one of the most common mosses in southeastern Alaska. It is a typical representative of the circumboreal flora element.
