Very tall, glaucous, with long narrow spikelets and glumes." [as D. c. ssp cespitosa] "Native grass common across Alaska except at very high elevations. often found on deposited sediment of streams and rivers. Recognized by being very tufted and having an open, nodding, and shiny panicle inflorecence."
