Pododesmus macroschisma	Green jingle	The green jingle is a thin, native species of oyster that is not commercially exploited. It is most often seen growing on PVC pipes in harbors, on which they can be seen as calcareous outgrowth, more or less smothered with tubeworm casings. On rocks at low tide, it becomes much less conspicuous. The shell itself is made up of two very different halves, the top one somewhat scallop-like, and the bottom one reminiscent of an "earring" since it has a hole near the hinge. The shell's interior is typically greenish, whereas that of local rock scallops have a purplish tinge.
