White-tailed Ptarmigan (Lagopus leucurus) There have been at least two unconfirmed reports of this species, the most recent on the Forest and Muskeg Trail at Starrigavan.

The sight record of White-tailed Ptarmigan 16 December 1978 [Johnston 1979; Christmas count] is too unlikely to be accepted without a photograph or specimen.
