Ian Worley

Southeastern Alaska Distribution: Throughout.
Habitat: In open peatlands, sometimes forming extensive mats. Occasionally dominant enough in a bog to cause it to have the characteristic brown color of the moss.
Comments: Often with sporophytes. "Circiumpolar, with slightly continental tendencies; hemiarctic to middle boreomeridional." (Isoviita, 1966). It occurs in the most oceanic peatlands in southeastern Alaska.
