  • Geiser Dillman Derr Stensvold 1998: Abundant; on soil and bark (mainly conifers but also on Populus and deciduous shrubs) in all forest types from low elevation to alpine. S. globosus was the most frequently observed macrolichen in southeast Alaska forests.
