Summary
|
This species is very similar to [[Flabelli … This species is very similar to [[Flabellina trophina|Red flabellina (''Flabellina trophina'')]], except that its rhinophores are smooth, bumpy, or warty, as opposed to finely annulate. Another difference is that ''F. verrucosa'' has a rounded oral veil ("snout"), whereas ''F. trophina'' has a blunt, triangular oral veil. Other diagnostic criteria, such as tail length (longer in ''F. verrucosa'' than ''F. trophina''), length of white dorsal stripe (longer in ''F. verrucosa''), and extent of white in cerata (one-fourth white in ''F. trophina''), seem to be less reliable.'F. trophina''), seem to be less reliable. +
