Sitka/Bryophytes: Hookeria lucens

Sitka Summary: Found in good-sized single species colonies at the base of Yellow Cedar (Chamaecyparis nootkatensis) trees in forest off of the lower section of Gavan Hill Trail. Also some colonies not associated with tree bases, but in the same habitat otherwise. In Totem Park found on damp mineral soils several locations. Seems tolerant of heavy shade.
