Riccardia palmata: Seems to be fairly common in the Sitka area.

Southeastern Alaska Distribution: See Map 101. Not previously reported from the region. Probably throughout wherever there are mature forests.
Habitat: Primarily on decorticated logs and decaying wood, but occasionally on peaty banks. Shaded places in forests, not usually where wet or very damp.
Comments: Occasionally with sporophytes.
