[as Pleuroclada albescens]
Southeastern Alaska Distribution: See Map 87. Throughout in the alpine.
Habitat: Widespread and locally abundant in subalpine and alpine bryophyte mats, often as pure colonies over mineral soils. Descending infrequently to near sea level. Especially common in damp areas, near late snowpatches and meltwater streams.
Comments: Not seen with sporophytes in southeastern Alaska.
There seems to be disagreement on the proper genus name. PLANTS has Pleurocladula, ITIS has Pleuroclada.
