Southeastern Alaska Distribution: Throughout. Previously known from a few citations.
Habitat: In wet areas; in seeps, streams, lakes, marshes; on rocks, soil, and wood. From sea level to the lower alpine.
Comments: Frequently with sporophytes. Hygrohpynum ochraceum var. flaccidum has been reported from Sitka and Disenchantment Bay by Cardot and Theriot (1902).
