Southeastern Alaska Distribution: See Map 225. Previously reported from "Above the Basin, Juneau" (Cooley, 1892).
Habitat: In southeastern Aloaska on rock outcrops in subalpine and alpine tundra. Occurring on siliceous rocks throughout its range.
Comments: Commonly with sporophytes. The southeastern Alaskan locations are the northernmost sites known for the species in North America.
