Southeastern Alaska Distribution: Previously reported from Skagway and Kuiu Island (Persson, 1952). Throughout.
Habitat: In crevices of rocks, cliffs and canyon walls. In moist, damp or dryish sites from sea level (in the northern portions of its range) to the alpine.
Comments: Dioicous. Rarely with sporophytes, but often with gemmae on the backs of the leaves.
