Goodyera oblongifolia
From Natural History of Southeast Alaska
Rattlesnake Plantain (Goodyera oblongifolia): Evergreen orchid found in uplifted beach forests. The white central stripe and netting of the leaves is unmistakable.
A few collections in ARCTOS, all from Sitka or north. Southeast Alaska appears to be where this species reaches its northern limits. It is reported found on Haida Gwaii, so could be presumed to occur in the southern part of the region.
Local Notes
- Sitka/Goodyera oblongifolia: Seems to be largely absent along the road system, though in recent years some plants have showed up in Totem Park. Also found on Middle Island and Kayak Island. Further from town, it's been found at Khvostof Lake. (edit)
