Southeastern Alaska Distribution: Throughout. Previously reported from Skagway (Cardot and Theriot, 1902), Craig and Ketchikan (Persson, 1968b).
Habitat: On rocks, trees, stumps, soil, roots, in shaded forest sites, from sea level to the subalpine.
Comments: In the upper Lynn Canal region and at Saginaw Bay the plants are robust, well developed and fertile. Those collections from wetter sites and more elevated situations tend to be rare, more poorly developed, and sterile.
