Southeastern Alaska Distribution: Not previously known. From Sunny Hay Mountain, Craig vicinity, Prince of Wales Island, Worley and Hamilton 6924; Mt. Roberts, Juneau, Hermann 21969.
Habitat: Specimen 6924 was growing among rocks on mountain ridge. Known from soil or rock, sometimes on rotting logs and decaying wood. Generally from the subalpine and alpine, but occasionally into the upper forest zones.
Comments: The Alaskan material was sterile, and represents the most northerly known stations for this species (Ireland, 1965).
