Worley's Map of Collection Records for Dicranoweisia crispula

Ian Worley

Southeastern Alaska Distribution: See map 186. Known from several early reports. [as D. c. var. contermina] See Map 187. Previously known only from Augustine Bay. Probably throughout in the mountains.
Habitat: On soil and rocks in exposed or somewhat shaded sites, most common in the subalpine and the alpine.

[as D. c. var. contermina] In rock crevices, on cliff shelves, on soil and in tundra vegetation in the subalpine and alpine, uncommonly to sea level.
Comments: All of the recent collections of this species from southeastern Alaska have proven to be the following variety. It is probably that the citations here belong also to that variety.

[as D. c. var. contermina] The southeastern Alaska material occasionally has sporophytes.
